Participating at LAN events has become somewhat of a conundrum over the last few years, especially in the South African scene which has seen the games of choice chop and change more often than we would like to believe.

We caught up with Dennis "Mennace" Fick, a South African gamer who played in teams such as 1st, UBS and ATF. Fick has since moved to the UK where he has continued to play CoD4 and has joined clan Rive. Rive is a British gaming organisation who has teams for CSS and CoD4 on PC as well as Fifa and MW2 on Xbox360.

From the 13th to 14th March, all three of Pantheon's squads, Counterstrike: Source, Heroes of Newerth and Call of Duty 4 will be competing around Gauteng in a number of tournaments, making for a truly exhilarating weekend of LAN madness.

South Africa's first ever Call of Duty 4 team to compete overseas, Qoob Gaming, is heading out this evening to Europe to compete at AEF, in Antwerp, Belgium from the 29th to 31st of July.

On the 30th of July, the Antwerp Esports Festival will kick off in Belgium. What makes this event so special is that a self-funded South African team, Qoob Gaming, will be participating in the competition, including our very own Greg "Rora" van der Spuy.

Several days ago, Graeme "korupt" Blackburn departed Pantheon Source in a move that saw players from three separate teams form an old foe. Pantheon has now found the perfect replacement.
