Pantheon off to shaky start but regain momentum

The Do League Leg 1 saw Pantheon entering their first official Counter-Strike: Source online league since joining the organize, after only having previous experience playing in the Counter-Strike 1.6 RISEUP Qualifiers.

The team was faced with a shaky start after drawing against the relatively unknown lineup of Memento Mori, a squad filled with young talent. Pantheon's second matchup against Plasma proved the same after going down 12 to 16 on one of their rivals strongest maps de_nuke.

The team was then motivated to regain themselves, and managed to run out the rest of the competition with wins over emuLate, Rampage Gamers, MoB, Constant and finally vintaGe.

Their final matchup proved to be a sweet ending to the completion of Leg 1 as their rivals had knocked them out of the MPLD March LAN. Pantheon took vintaGe on de_dust2, generally considered a map that any team could take due to its variety of strats used.

Pantheon final placing has come down to rounds won and lost as four teams in Group C managed to finish with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.

Pantheon champions of Leg 1

Coming into 2010's inaugural Call of Duty 4 League, the Do Premier competition was set to be the most competitive, with a number of teams strengthening their lineups in early January.

Pantheon was shunted by Do Gaming as the hailing champions Bravado, and newcomers such as Section 8 were touted to take the top spots in the 2 month online competition.

Pantheon kicked off their season with an incredible win over Bravado on Crash, taking the map 15 to 9 rounds. Even though blog's were released by Bravado explaining that they just had a 'off' day, many could agree this win proved the rise of Pantheon's squad to the next level.

Following the intense rivalry of the first matchup, Pantheon then faced their newest nemesis's Section 8, and managed to once again run away with victory.

Only in their 3rd matchup against their well-known counterparts, miNt gaming, did Pantheon draw on the hotly contested Crossfire. After regrouping and analyzing their mistakes, Pantheon went on to dominate the rest of the matches and take the title of champions of Leg 1.

Pantheon take 3rd in their group

After garnering some experience in the international ESL Opening HoN Cup, Pantheon HoN were set to do well in the local Do League. Things turned however with two of our players leaving the team, including one of our long time founders, Rob "GrIdL0cK" Clegg.

The team took the loss in their stride and quickly recruited two new players including the formidable Jayson "Marax" Marilli and Guy "Dark" Peters-Hollenberg.

With only 5 round robin matches to play, the league was set to be a close call as the performance of teams was based purely on friendly matches. Pantheon stepped up to the plate and crushed their first two opponents Retards Unite and Shaka Zulus.

Maybe too relaxed after their first two wins, Pantheon then faced ZtM and went down. This was followed by matching up against 0ND, officially noted as Pantheon's strongest rivals in their group, and went down again.

The final match saw Pantheon regaining their early league performance, with Matt "fluKe" Merks playing an exceptional carry game with Zephyr, allowing for Merks to run away and completely dominate the opposing side of MoC.

Pantheon finished 3rd in Group B of the tournament, a respectable performance for their first local event. The team will be looking to improve on their placing in the next leg, with the possibility of a new player entering the lineup.

Week 4

Week 3
