CIC7: 2010's first major CoD4 LAN kicks off

Posted by Evax on Fri, 03/05/2010 - 16:36 in

Crossfire Intel Challenge 7(CIC7) hosted in Enschede, The Netherlands is a gaming competition focusing on two games, namely Call of Duty 4 and Enemy Territory. The CoD4 tournament features the top European teams such as fnatic, Dignitas, Reason and Power Gaming.

Loaded from the USA is also attending the event prolonging the Europe vs NA battle that has existed for so long.

As this is the first CoD4 LAN of 2010, one can never accurately predict the standings before the event and we should expect many upsets along the way. New teams such as NCE and Infinity Skills have had some strong results online in the seeding tournament as well as various online cups. It will be interesting to see if they can convert this online form to LAN form.

www.TEK-9.org will be bringing you live and up-to-date coverage from the event, with Steven "dfb" Leunens, Will "wizinium" Hunter and Camiel "jetset" R all attending the event to bring you some great news and articles. Tek9 are well known for their great coverage and entertaining articles. For a comprehensive preview as well as up to date scores and results visit the Tek9 website.

Overview of CIC7

Cadred.org will also be on site to interview players and teams to get the latest stories from the LAN. Durus from Cadred.org has already interviewed Juvenile from American team Loaded which you can listen to here.

Juvenile from Loaded

As always, QuadV (www.quadv.com) will be attending the event to stream as many games as possible. The familiar names of TosspoT and Deman will provide entertaining and invaluable commentary to go along with the high level of competition. Streaming was meant to start early on Friday morning , but technical issues have delayed this and the QuadV technicians are working to rectify the problem. For more information on what games will be streamed visit www.quadv.com .

Not only do these QuadV streams prove to be excellent entertainment, but many teams locally and internationally can learn alot from the style of play adopted by the top teams at the tournament.

CIC7 promises to be a great tournament and if succesful will provide a solid starting point for the 2010 CoD4 season. With the Summer lans fast approaching, the tournament gives us a preview to who is in top form and who has let their game slip.

Was very disappointed with the streaming on Friday. Kept sticking! Hopefully will be fixed for Sat!
